My everyday life reflection #12
In the last few days I was wondering, why do we all need brand new things. By that I don't mean it is something wrong when we do it in the right way. However, nowadays it is deeply embedded in our community to have a new phone or bag for instance. Some people make so much fuss around getting new things and swing from one shop to another, just to get what they want, to be cool. Media and normal people malign celebrities for not having a new Channel perfumes or Gucci t-shirt. Why the world is going in this direction? Why nowadays people who don't have branded clothes are mostly left out? The answer for me is still unknown. However, I really hope we will start looking more deeply into people's characters than on what they wear or where they have their lunches.
And the sad consequence of us buying new things all the time (sometimes called 'fast fashion') is that it pollutes the environment. Poor quality clothes end up in landfills after a very short time, adding to the already enourmous amount of trash we produce.
