Does school prepare us for real life?

School does not prepare us for real life, and there are many examples why the things are like this. School should prepare students from their first steps for stressful occasions, teach us how to deal with them. But many teachers make an opposite of it, they want us to feel stressed and uncomfortable by giving us a lot of tests and putting to much pressure on us, which we can't handle and instead of learning how to deal with them, we want to omit them as much as we can. Also, school should teach us how to work with people. But in reality, many students aren't prepared for working with a bigger group, because no one taught them to do things like this. In addition, people that designed curricula of school thought that marks and tests will motivate us to work. They couldn't be more mistaken. All these things are very demotivating. Bad marks make us feel depressed, we often think that have to know everything. But in reality, most of the things that we are learning in schools are not needed.
All in all, schools maybe try to prepare us for the real life, but in my opinion they fail in this case.

  1. It seems that coping with stress should be the main skill school should teach. What about thinking, working independently and in a group, finding information you need?
